Program for planning of sampling at the contaminated territory and comparison of the samples content
SSL developed the Methods and Program of planning the sampling which may be used in evaluation of territory contamination caused by nuclear or chemical accident.
The input data for the Program are the measurement results of contamination (radioactivity) of so-called “recognize samples” (3-5) sampled at the researched territory and the given accuracy of the averaged territory contamination determination. It is proposed that values of contamination density are of lognormal distribution with parameters determined by measurement results for “recognize samples”.
The Program randomly selects from the obtained lognormal distribution the values (10, 20, 30 etc.) and calculates the standard and square deviation. Number of samples ensuring the given accuracy is estimated by interpolation of the standard and square deviation as a function of the samples number.
Then the Program suggests a set of sampling points at the map of investigated territory.
The Program may be used in planning of the contaminated territories investigation.
SSL also developed the Program of unbiased comparison of the samples content collected at the contaminated territories by gamma-spectrum (in the case of radioactive contamination) or by concentrations of some selected chemical compounds.
The Program may be used in searching of “culprit” or origins of contamination.
