Program for evaluation of the contaminations atmosphere transfer
Gauss model is used to describe the atmosphere transfer of the contaminations (chemical, aerosol, radioactive) at the distances not more than 50-100 km. Gauss model is used e.g. in evaluation of the radionuclide propagation during nuclear accidents as well as in evaluation of the releases propagation during the normal exploiting of reactors.
Incoming parameters are:
- speed and direction of wind;
- elevation and power of the source;
- day time and grade of clouding (in balls);
- roughness parameters of underlying surface and rate of aerosol particles dry precipitation.
Category of atmosphere stability (from A – strong instability to F – strong stability) is determined by wind speed and grade of clouding. Paskwill-Gifford parameterization is used to describe the contaminations scattering.
The model gives at the output the contamination concentration in atmosphere and density of precipitation after the cloud passed.
Calculation results are demonstrated at the map (see fig. 1).

Using the proper dose coefficients (curves “dose-effect”) and breath and nourishment parameters it is possible to calculate the irradiation doses for population after the nuclear accidents and in the normal exploiting of the different reactors as well as the amount of contamination penetrating to human body at the given places.
It is possible to calculate distribution of death or diseased people number and/or distribution of the irradiation doses along the territory.
The model may be used in designing and analyzing of the nuclear reactors and chemical production safety as well as in evaluation of the emergency consequences with radioactive or chemical releases into atmosphere.
